Swan Lake
Amongst greenery metal swans lie
In position of flight
Ripples form and disappear
Throughout the day and night
Yet stationary it remains
In the middle of the great swan lake
People pass and people go
Despite all it stays without a soul
The secret spell cast by mankind
Binds everything in eternal oblivion
None will remember how nature used to be
Till the riddance of our own deeds
This scenery at the Botanical Gardens reminds me of what we have studied earlier on in Language Arts this year--- Man and Nature. Instead of adapting to nature, man is changing nature to suit our needs. This can be seen through the metallic statues of swans as well as the greenery which surrounds the swan lake. The plants and trees are being planted and further maintained by man and not grown on its own. Nature has lost its ability to grow freely and is now under control of the hands of man.
