My Guide
The all-seeing lamp post,
With its bright shining light,
Guides me through the forest
On a dark and cloudy night.

You stand so tall and bright,
I see you everywhere.
And as I walk along this path,
I feel your gentle stare.

Your silence is so cheerful.
It’s as if you’re telling me,
To keep on going no matter what,

Even if my legs are failing me.

Day light breaks, my friend,
Your light has gone out for now.
Yet you are there still watching me,
Looking out for me, somehow.

This poem talks about a runner who's running through the forest at night. The lamp post is her only guide through the path, watching her, giving her light to see and it even seems to be encouraging her as she runs. After going through photos of that day, I realised that I had alot of photos which had lamp posts in them. It occured to me that the lamp post has sort of an omipresent property and that it can see all. It is sort of like a metaphor for God, who is omnipresent and omniscient. The runner finishes her run and it becomes day time again. The lamp post does not give out light anymore but it is still there looking out for her.
