Pigeon in the city
The image illustrates a pigeon by a lamppost which represents the city. Pigeons are very common in cities; they seek food and shelter and tend to be found in huge flocks. City folks are not accustomed to wild animals, and whenever they see pigeons the normal reaction would be to chase them away or runaway from them. Most city people think that pigeons are revolting, because all they see is pigeons as animals that mess up the environment by excreting all over the place and are filthy. But we have overseen the fact that the pigeons have made changes to adapt to the new environment man have created for themselves, and very beautiful creatures. The dove we use as a symbol of peace and look upon as a simple beauty is actually a white pigeon! Perhaps the next time we see pigeon, why not look at how beautiful its feathers are rather than concentrate on its flaws.
Imprinted cement Paw-print
This image of the paw-print imprinted into the cement, represents how mankind’s civilization has left a mark on the animals of the world today. The civilization of the human race has not only cultivated people but the together with pets that we claim to be our own. One would rarely come across a modern world wild dog. The dogs we see in the city today are leashed and living in apartments or a dog pound. The dogs are unable to experience the freedom and many have lost their hunting instinct that Mother Nature meant for them. The domesticated dog can no longer experience its own natural habitat, now trapped in the urban world of buildings and cemented paths. But the dogs have adapted well in order to survive in the world today, they have learnt to receive commands from their owners and are surviving on what the humans provide for them.
Cacti: Act of Vandalism
As seen in the picture, the cactus has carved vandalism on it and it signifies how many people are unable to appreciate Nature anymore, and to make things worse these people cause harm to Nature. These acts of vandalism show how disconnected man is from nature and how nature is not regarded as beautiful or to be treated with respect. Man’s indifference toward the beauty of our environment has led to immature acts such as these. Man’s industrial revolution took place at the expense of Nature being destroyed. The forests were once spectacular landscapes home to many species of flora and fauna before they were destroyed to make way for man-made cities and for man’s progress. Similarly, man’s harmful disposition will continue to destroy our environment even when there are people trying to incorporate Nature back into our city life.
