Goodbye Earth
Empty coke bottles
And snapped rubber bands
Styrofoam cups
And aluminum cans
Trash litters the roads
Trash covers the woods
Trash floats in the water
This cant be good
Smoke fills the air
There’s no room to breathe
The water is murky
And dirt coats each leaf
There are no more deer
Not a bird to be seen
We could have stopped it
If we’d kept the world clean
They said, We can fix it
But they waited too long
Butterflies can not fly
Whales have sung their last song
Its gone too far to stop it
Its not a fence to be painted
You cant cover it up
When the whole world is tainted
This picture shows a sundial and behind it, an uncertain path way. This picture struck me as it makes me think about how much more time the world has to deduce its greenhouse gases, and also the uncertain future ahead if we do not start now. This poem shows the effect that man is having on the Earth, and that it is almost too late to reverse what we have done to the Earth by now. Even if litter is cleared up and greenhouse gases are reduced, it would still take many years for the climate of the earth to stabilize. In the picture, the water of the ponds are murky, and the leaves are coated with dirt
