Poem by JayJay Wong 2D'07

Science of botany
In this humidity
Away from the cacophony
Of traffic
The peace extols the sounds of Nature
The soil is artificial, no real manure
Green grass, white les fleurs
Pristine pastures and wedding porches,
Polaroid pictures of newlyweds,
Our dreams, they are made out of real things,
Let’s lie beneath a tree
Nostalgia of Romanticism
Grandiose gardens,
They shed not from the poignant sun,
They seep joy not murk from monsoon rains,
Wordsworth,
A seat reserved, may you lie on this couch
Coleridge,
Indeed fantasy.
Penchant for Nature
Science of botany
In this humidity
Nonchalant are we
Nature’s Pyrrhic victory.
